University of Chicago names alumnus, renowned chemist from UC Berkeley as next president

The University of Chicago’s Board of Trustees has selected chemist and nanoscientist Paul Alivisatos, 61, as the school’s 14th president. Alivisatos, a U. of C. alumnus and administrator at UC Berkeley, will assume the role Sept. 1. (Chris Polydoroff)
